Very nice place, friendly and helpful staff and the other guests were very friendly. The park was clean and well organized. Restrooms, showers and laundry area was always clean and well maintained. We were invited to a BBQ on the 4th of July, but could not attend due to family obligations. We did have a great seat on the road boarding the park to watch the Fireworks put on by the city of Yreka. The only reason I gave a 4 star instead of 5 is the "Free WiFi". It is only free for 1 device for 45 minutes. Then it constantly interrupted what we were doing on our phones trying to get us to pay and sign in. Since we did not spend much time in the park it did not make sense to me to pay when we were going to be with our family and not be using the Park WiFi.- Dennis
Dennis, Thank you for the great review. We sincerely appreciate you taking the time to provide feedback. While we pride ourselves on great WIFI, It also comes with a host of issues for sure. The "45 minute time-out" issue has been removed. Hopefully, when we see you again, your Wifi experience will be much better. Safe Travels, Trish, Rick and Stacey
I had a great time here. The campground is well organized, maintained and if you are lucky the management team brings popcorn to you! The Showers are great and finding a park with lots of trees and shade is a huge bonus this time of year. - Justin
Justin, Thank you for taking the time to provide your review, it is much appreciated!!! We look forward to your next visit and we will have the Popcorn ready!!! Safe Travels Trish, Rick and Stacey
We needed a RV Park to stay on our way to Coos Bay, Oregon. This was a great choice! Was clean and quiet. Have nice shaded spaces. We enjoyed going into Yreka for dinner. Cute, quaint town. -Jane
Hi Jane, Thank you for your review. We look forward to seeing you again and will have the popcorn ready!! (Would also love to know where you had dinner) Safe travels, Stacey, Rick, and Trish
Thank you for a great stay, your Park was more than welcome to us. We we're headed to San Francisco from the NW and reserved a stay on our way back - Paul
Hi Paul, We are thrilled you booked another stay. We look forward to your visit and will have the popcorn ready. Safe travels, Stacey, Rick, and Trish
We were just starting our 100 day trip to Alaska and back and just luckily planned our first stop at this lovely park. The owners were very friendly and was in the process of making popcorn for all the campers. The grounds were well kept with big mature trees. We had a nice shady spot. We were there two nights to rest after getting packed up for our long trip and we were well rested when we left.- Anne M
For never staying at Waiiaka RV Park before, we were definitely pleased. Especially on short notice. RV Park was clean and staff was friendly and more than helpful to answer any questions we had. We would definitely recommend this park and will stay here again if we are in the area. Also, park is close enough to freeway but far enough not to hear. Some of the best TV reception we have had in our travels. Thanks again. - Terry
Terry, Thank you for taking the time to let us know you enjoyed your stay. We look forward to seeing you again. Trish, Rick and Stacey
We only spent one night here on our way south, but we were impressed with the park and the staff. Very friendly. The park is well maintained with easy access to I-5, but far enough away that it was not too noisy. We would definitely recommend this place, and would definitely stay here again if we are in the area.- PaulResponse:
Thank you Paul for the great review, we are happy you enjoyed your stay. We look forward to seeing you again. Next time you come Check out our New Dog Park that we hope to have finished By July. Thanks again Stacey
When they say oasis of relaxing they are spot on! My family had a very lovely stay here and we can’t wait to get back. We were very welcomed by the friendly and helpful staff that we felt as if we were family. There were so many different sites to choose from which is nice to know as we don’t always camp the same way every time. The park was nicely maintained and they had a lot of amenities that made it very relaxing. I enjoyed the activities they had to offer as it was relaxing for all of us. The location was great as there was so many beautiful things to see. Well worth staying here. - Review provided by RV Park Recommendations & Reviews Facebook Group -EvelynResponse:
Hi Evelyn, Thank you for the positive feedback. We sincerely appreciate it and look forward to your next visit\ Safe Travels Trish, Rick and Stacey
Waiiaka was our last stop on our way home from a road trip to Las Vegas to visit family. Of all the parks we stayed at, we were truly impressed by your facility. The grounds were clean and easily accessible. The host hospitality was friendly and genuine, and the POPCORN was a treat! If, and when we make another road trip in your direction, you can count on us to stay at WAIIAKA! - Richard Raitano
We stayed their July 29 for one night. This park was very well ran and up to date on everything! They even answer the phone which is better than most of the parks in this area. We found it to be well organized, clean, and very friendly. The management who are also the owners, took this park over about a year ago and we will stay here anytime we are in this general area. - Harvey S.
We stayed here in our 5th wheel trailer for 2 nights in early August 2016. It is not a destination RV camp, but if you are looking for a great place to spend 1 or 2 nights to rest up.... perfect!
EASY to find from the freeway, easy on & off. Easy pull thru spots. Simple hook ups. Nice picnic table and most spots have a nice big tree. The laundry room was clean and everything worked. Bathrooms & showers were well lit and very clean. The STAFF were ALL amazing, friendly, helpful and they deliver afternoon popcorn! After driving 7 hrs. we stayed for 2 nights. I loved riding my bike all around the quiet street they are off of! Lots of stores and fast foods are within a 5 min. drive. We could barely hear the freeway at night, but it was not that close so it didn't bother us. They are with Good Sam and offer their discount. We would go back. -Leslie R.
This park is outstanding thanks to the new owners. They do everything they can to make sure their clients are comfortable and well taken care of. From my initial phone call answered by Trish I knew we'd be in good hands. We just returned from a 2 week stay. The weather took a turn and we literally snowed in. After 2 days of constant snow the owners jumped on their tractors and began plowing the interior roads and helping RVers to dig out. Our kids/grandkids live in the area so we will definitely return. Give them a chance to impress you, too.- Nancy Smith
We are full timers and have stayed in many parks thru the years. These guys and gals know how to make you want to come back and stay again and again. The grounds are clean and tidy, the bathrooms spotless, the laundry room clean with machines that work well and the staff is great. What more could you ask for? Even the mountain views are awesome! - Sandie Johnson
It took me awhile to sit down & write this, but we have to say this park and the owners are fantastic! We were headed down in early August, and had some serious issues with our RV.The owners went above and beyond in accommodating us! They were kind and helpful at a time when we were really stressed and not sure how we were getting our RV home! The park itself is beautiful, clean, and has easy access to local restaurants and I-5! We willdefinitely be back (hopefully under better circumstances), and we've
recommended them to friends. Thank you So MUCH Rick, Tammy, and the rest of the owners! We truly appreciate you!! -Vickie Sprague Mattern
We decided to stay here based on other reviews, and I'm so glad we did. The area is absolutely beautiful. If the weather is nice while you're here, you're going to love it.
When we arrived we were met by a very friendly staff member. I was checked in literally within 30 seconds and he was ready to show me to my site. He mentioned stopping by around 6:30 pm for some popcorn. I didn't give it much thought... but we were considering taking the kids of up to the office when there came a knock on the door... and sure enough, there is the staff member with a basket filled with FIVE bags of freshly popped popcorn -- one for each of us (we have three small children). How about that?? You don't see that kind of service or attention at most places, much less a RV park -- so super-huge kudos to this park for going the extra mile. The kids were super excited about the extra treat.
The park has 4 main rows of pull-thru, hard-packed gravel sites, pretty level, with trees scattered throughout the park. It's not a place you'll find extreme landscaping, or a mega-splash water park or playground... but what you will find is beautiful scenery all around, a nice quiet atmosphere, and a simple peaceful feeling. Not to forget -- exceptional staff.
While it's unfortunate that they don't have a playground for the kids, they have plenty of places to walk around and enjoy the trees, grass, and mountains in the background... so the kids still had a great time.
About the ONLY negative thing I can think of is the online reservation system -- provided by Rover Pass. The regular nightly rate is $38. Good Sam, Military, AARP, and Senior Citizens get a 10%% discount (Military gets 15%% discount). The discount pretty much will nix the tax associated with the reservation. Sadly, if you make your reservation online, Rover Pass will add $5.00 to the bill. This is NOT refundable... so if you have to change your reservation, you don't get the $5.00 back. This is because Rover Pass is kind of like PayPal -- they're just a middleman handling the transaction... so the park doesn't really have anything to do with what they charge on top of the regular rate and discount. Our final price ($38.00 -10%% Good Sam Discount + Tax + Rover Pass) was $43.30.
In the future, I would strongly suggest just calling them over the phone and save yourself the Rover Pass service charge. I'm not going to take a star away from the park for this, simply because the online Rover Pass reservation is an OPTION and not something you HAVE to use. It's a choice.
They also have a card that they will stamp -- one stamp for every day you visit. If you stay FIVE nights, you get a free night on them. That's pretty nice, actually. Most parks give you a 7th night free if you stay for six CONSECUTIVE nights... but with Waiiaka you can stay five times ANY time you like, and still earn a sixth night for free. This may not be a big deal to some people, but it's the small 'extras' like this that really set this park apart from everyone else and shows that they are working hard to make sure every customer is 100%% happy with their experience. In all my travels, I've only see this level of attention and care at one other park.
As far as data/WiFi goes -- I've heard people say that the WiFi is screaming fast... but for right now it's a paid option (close to $3.00 per day), but the staff member said that the new owners and trying to get it turned into FREE WiFi for everyone. That said, we didn't try it out. I ran cellular hotspot tests with AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint. AT&T (55 Mbps down; 20 Mbps up); Verizon (32 Mbps down; 38 Mbps up); and Sprint (3 Mbps down; 1 Mbps up). -David Good 5/5

This was a very friendly RV park. It was clean although the sites were a little close together. Propane refilling and tank decertification were available. Price for propane was decent. Casino nearby that you could kind of see but you couldn't hear anything from there. I would return!

- Michael Falvey. 5/16/2019
We really like this park. We pulled off the highway at 11 pm and found several spots open for us. The park is only a few hundred yards off the highway, but it sounds like it is much further. It is suprisingly quiet. Trees shade the sites. The management is friendly. My pet peeves are usually poorly thought out showers. There are hooks in the shower and a bench to sit items. A curtain separates the hooks and bench so your things aren't wet, and the floor stays dry. There are even hooks at the sinks, which I am surprised aren't common in other parks. The WiFi is high speed fiber and they boast you can stream movies. We didn't try it because of the late arrival. Another nice benefit is they have a punch card, 6 nights and the 7th is free. 50 amp and 30 amp spots. 2 water faucet hookups. Easy in and out. I highly recommend this park.
- Dan O'Leary. 4/31/2019
Nice RV park. Did not care for the showers, cost. 25 cents for 3 min.
- Dennis Vasile. 4/30/2019
Wish there was more parks like this one.
Overnight stop but park was clean and staff are well organized. Free popcorn while I did my laundry.
Sites are nicely spaced. Everything worked as it should. The owner was super sweet and the after hours host was awesome also.
Very nice dog area to boot!
Would stay again!
- Cathy lucas. 4/11/2019
Very reasonable spot to spend the night when passing through the area. Large pull-through sites angled to make it easy to get in and out without unhooking the towed car.

- Victor Metcalfe. 2/22/2019
This park is owned by my mom and her friends. It is the most clean and respectable park out there. They do an exceptional job on customer service and everyone thats came through has loved the services. We also give out free popcorn and people sometimes come back just for the popcorn. They also have a punch card that if you stay 5 nights then you get the 6th night free. They have amazing rates per night. This park is the best in my opinion and I really appreciate all they do. I would really reccomend staying there when you are in the area.

- D Whirligig. 0/30/2019

Very clean , friendly and quiet. Easy access to Interstate, casino and down town. I would give it a five if you didn’t have to pay for shower. Would definitely recommend this park not only as an overnight spot but also as a destination spot. County fair across the street and outdoor stuff to do in close proximity.

My son is staying here while he is working in Yreka. I have visited several times. Very nice park. The owners are great. I appreciate the security and if you are visiting like I do, they will ask you where you are staying, to verify that you have legitimate reasons to be there. This does not bother me in the least, in fact, it makes me feel safe knowing that the owners are watching. Kudos and thank you.
